		<description>It&#039;s the &#039;boy cries wolf&#039; syndrome.  Someday, someone is going to actually try and rob that car...and no one will pay attention to the alarm because it always goes off.  

The kind of alarm I want is when you touch the door handle, you get about 10,000 volts shooting through your body.  That&#039;d deter some people from touching my car.</description>

		<description>Vancouver has a noise-pollution bylaw - you can be fined etc if your alarm goes off for more than a couple minutes.

Oddly enough, when I was waiting at the bus this morning a tow truck was hauling away a car that had an alarm going off. It was just a VW with the constant &quot;beep beep&quot; not like the one near our place (which you describe) with an entire plethora of annoying sounds.</description>
